Our Story

LUNA DIVINA IS A SURREAL STORY ABOUT THE MYSTERY OF MOTHERHOOD.

On Christmas night, when the son of wine is born, a miracle occurs.
It is the story of a newborn child who is saved thanks to a bath in wine. The baby, in critical condition, was fighting for his life due to a respiratory crisis. In those moments of great distress, the mother ordered the women caring for him to warm some Aglianico wine.
Immediately, the baby was immersed in a basin of warm wine and almost miraculously, the newborn began to breathe.
His cries were a sweet sound for the family.

Cantine Terra dei Re

THE WINERY

Cantine Terra dei Re was founded in 2000 by the Rabasco and Leone families, who chose to create a distinctive winemaking project deeply rooted in the geological and cultural soul of the Basilicata region. Located on the slopes of Mount Vulture, an extinct volcano that has enriched the soils with unique minerals and elements for thousands of years, the winery embodies a rare balance between tradition and modernity.
The innovative winery is completely underground, approximately 25 metres below the surface, and features evocative caves carved into the volcanic rock, where Aglianico del Vulture matures. The estate is home not only to Aglianico, but also to Pinot Noir: a unique vineyard located at an altitude of 800 metres.
For over twenty years, we have been working to make the winery increasingly competitive in terms of quality while remaining in step with the times.
Our goal is to enhance Aglianico del Vulture through a sustainable approach, creating a strong synergy with the territory and achieving the perfect balance of drinkability.
The hills of Vulture tell a thousand-year-old story of passion, tradition and people. It is from these surroundings that the inspiration comes to transform what nature offers into wine. The volcanic composition of the soils, together with layers of tuff and the different geological strata, gives the wines unique characteristics, an authentic expression of an extraordinary territory.

THE NIGHT HARVEST

At night, the grapes are more fragrant…
The night harvest of Aglianico del Vulture Notte is born from the silent dialogue between the vine and the climate of Vulture. In the first half of November, when the temperature range between day and night approaches 20°C, the warmth of the day expands the grape berries, while the night gathers them back into itself. It is precisely in the coolness of the night that the vine concentrates precious compounds, rich in aromas and colour. Harvesting in the dark means preserving that delicate moment, bringing all its intensity and poetry into the glass.

AGRICULTURE

The territory of Aglianico del Vulture is complex and rich in nuances. The Pinot Noir and Malvasia vineyards are planted at different altitudes, ensuring that each grape variety has the ideal conditions for growth.
Elegance, softness, aromatic persistence and minerality define their style. The vineyard exposure, the marked temperature variations and the volcanic-origin soils all contribute to the uniqueness of these wines. In Aglianico, floral notes, ripe fruit, well-balanced spices and finely polished tannins emerge.

WINEMAKER DR. RICCARDO COTARELLA

For many years, Cantine Terra dei Re has relied on the experience and expertise of winemaker Riccardo Cotarella.
His guidance is considered fundamental to achieving a new vision, modernity through advanced technologies while respecting the characteristics of the vines and terroirs.
